Following the formation of the Public Cloud Group in May, the group has taken a further step towards becoming a fully comprehensive multi-cloud managed services provider with the acquisition of SWITCOM. In addition to solutions for Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, the acquisition expands PCG‘s portfolio to include service offerings around Microsoft Azure.

Less than five months after the initial merger of Cloudwürdig, DI-ON.solutions and Innovations ON, the transaction marks the fourth addition to the Public Cloud Group. As a long-standing Microsoft partner, Hamburg-based SWITCOM complements the group with expertise in cloud infrastructure, work transformation through MS365 and its own managed services for medium-sized customers. The Public Cloud Group, headed by Oliver Schallhorn, now serves all three relevant hyperscalers.

„The growth potential for the Public Cloud Group is enormous and can be ideally exploited with the addition of Microsoft partner SWITCOM in order to building a fully comprehensive IT concept. Microsoft's public cloud is the third fundamental pillar that we will strategically build up within the group to serve customers from the midmarket and enterprise segment. We are pleased that we have been able to gain a long-standing Microsoft partner in SWITCOM and that we now cover the three most internationally relevant hyperscalers," says Andreas Bösenberg, Managing Director of NORD Holding.

The Public Cloud Group is pursuing an unique approach that solely focuses on public cloud solutions. The Azure team within the Public Cloud Group will reach a significant size of more than 50 public cloud experts within the next 24 months. With SWITCOM, the Public Cloud Group's portfolio of offerings is being systematically expanded. With its solutions for cloud managed services, cloud consulting, cloud-native application development and work transformation, cloud-supported data & AI solutions and SAP migration & transformation, it builds on the pillars of the hyperscalers Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

With the acquisition of SWITCOM, the Public Cloud Group has now taken the next step towards a fully comprehensive multi-public cloud managed service portfolio. SWITCOM managers Nick Delefski, Hannes Bünger and Marlen Hartmann will remain with the group in leading positions. The previous managing director Sven Witthohn will not continue in his position.

Witthohn states: "We are very much looking forward to working together in the Public Cloud Group. As part of a group of companies with a similar outlook, we will be stronger and more credible. The multi-cloud approach not only benefits our customers massively, but also our employees. On the one hand through economies of scale, more business opportunities, higher customer loyalty as well as the possibilities to get trained across vendors.

"This transaction was executed by NORD Holding’s Software & Technology team, highlighting NORD Holding’s sector expertise in IT Services and adjacent technologies. On behalf of NORD Holding, this transaction was accompanied by Andreas Bösenberg, Moritz Merkert and Christoph Grunewald and Konstantin Wilckens.
