ROMER'S Hausbäckerei

The premium frozen food company IDAK Food Group took over the majority of Romer's Hausbäckerei based in Benken SG. IDAK is thus further expanding its strong position in the frozen food sector: In addition to KADI AG with potatoes & snacks and Margherita Srl with pizza & pizza snacks, Romer's home bakery with baked goods & snacks is now the third division of the group of companies.

The family-owned company Romer's Hausbäckerei has been established for over 40 years and enjoys an excellent reputation on the Swiss market. It produces frozen baked goods in various categories with high quality standards. Around 350 employees contribute to success, and the company also has a strong organization and an experienced management team at all levels.

”Thanks to these and other qualities, Romer's is the ideal addition to our group of companies. Accordingly, we are looking forward to strategically expanding our premium food portfolio” says Christof Lehmann, CEO of the IDAK Food Group.

IDAK already includes the highly successful telecommunications companies KADI AG with potatoes & snacks and Margherita Srl with pizza & pizza snacks. Romer's Hausbäckerei is now complementing the group with a third division called baked goods & snacks.

”The takeover was also supported by the fact that we at IDAK live very similar values to Romer's, particularly in terms of innovative spirit, customer orientation and in the areas of management and quality philosophy” says Lehmann. The company, with its two locations in Benken SG and Oberburg BE, will remain unchanged: “DThe independence of Romer's Hausbäckerei contributes significantly to its success.” Thanks to IDAK's portfolio, both sides can mutually benefit from a great deal of expertise in the telecommunications sector, but also take advantage of attractive growth opportunities.

The Romer family chose IDAK out of conviction. The previous owner Romer family made the decision to manage the succession of their extremely successful company as a family and managed it proactively and responsibly. ”We are very happy that we have found the best succession solution for us with a company based in Switzerland that works in a similar way to us. The regulation is being taken at exactly the right time to take the next strategic growth steps with a strong partner such as the IDAK Group” says Remo Romer, Managing Director of Romer's Hausbäckerei.

The Romer family remains involved in Romer's Hausbäckerei and continues to sit on the Board of Directors. Remo Romer is available to the company in his position as Managing Director until his succession has been settled and successfully established. This approach ensures a calm and stable transition period.
